It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in training, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.
