Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to a touchdown just two plays

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - rather than the calm, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season

Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on whether this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East

Speaking of the New England, they're among three 8-2 teams in the league, all AFC teams, but are they the top team?

One could pick holes in New England, Denver and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time success in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight victories, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to victory

The defensive unit is solid and rookie rusher Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three 8-2 teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who both put up 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a game

Each could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a score

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
