Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for embracing chaos and insanity with the same excitement, all while weaving gripping, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose work have represented all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a fresh backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX team continues to lift me up with their constant trust and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every instalment is a take of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of people through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, daring style to the television.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
