First-choice XI

Dean Henderson Not a save to perform in the first half but then tested from an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding tackle on an Albanian attacker showed excellent anticipation. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly One more confident display from the youngster after his initial appearance versus another side. A teammate was unable to take the opportunity from a gorgeous backheel over their defense. His position is firmly his already. 7

The newcomer A debut start for his country. A bit loose when playing out however his dangerous set-pieces caused problems. A handy game manager for the manager to call upon versus defensive opponents. Booked for a rash foul. 6/10

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s clearest opportunity in the opening period, his strike excellently kept out by the Albanian keeper. As a teammate staying deep, he had to stretch the play on the right but his crosses from the touchline were inconsistent. Substituted with 15 to go. 6

Harry Kane The decisive figure with his 77th and 78th strikes for his country. His first a trademark poacher’s finish and his next a classy header after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he continues to improve and the side stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. Eight

The attacker Had difficulty to make an impact on the left flank. Had a good opening following a pass by the midfielder yet Strakosha made the save. Rashford produced a bigger influence when substituted. 5
